Drafting/planning into my magazine(Magazine name)
I have decided that the name of my magazine will be called 'ROIT'. I made this decision based on my page plus task of making my own magazine. I liked the way that the title looked with the magazine and thought it would be good for my final magazine.

Drafting/planning of my magazine and photography(Practising editing)
I have took the photo which i liked from my original photography and applied two different effects which i think are very effective for my chosen genre of music. I did this using a website called 'pixlr.com'.
This will be useful for me as i can now use this website to edit photos which are going to be used for my actual music magazine.
Drafting/Planning of my photography and organisation of my actors, locations, costumes and props (Original photography)
Here is some original photography which I had taken while at Witely court. I particularly like the last photo as i think it suits my genre of indie/rock.

Research into similar products (Magazine influences)
Here i have been looking at magazine covers which have also been made up my other AS students.
I researched the rock genre so that i can use it to inspire me when i create my own music magazine.

Research and planning of my photography, magazine and actors
As well as my main cover star, I want to include featuring bands within my magazine for my front cover.
I want to take original photography of a band so that when i come to designing my front cover etc i have the choice of photos to use if i need to.
Here is some inspiration into what my band will look like.

Reasoning for my PagePlus task (last post)
FRONT COVER
For my front cover, i had decided to keep it very plain and minimal for the layout.
I did this as when i has previously made research into indie/rock magazine such as Q magazine, a lot of the time the front covers focused mainly on the cover star and featured very few cover lines.
Therefore, I found an image of my cover star and placed her in the middle of the cover. I did this so that she would be center of attention to the audience and they would then be drawn in straight away to the main cover line underneath 'Three words...Phoebe is back'.
The fact that all of this is central to the magazine cover draws the readers attention in and entices them to read inside of the magazine.
I also include a cover line 'kings of leon fall apart'. I wrote this head line on the right hand side of the magazine. I did this so that the focus wouldn't be taken of the main cover line and image however it still promoted the other articles in the magazine to the reader.
I also included other crucial codes and conventions of a magazine to my front cover such as the bar code, masted head, date line and price so that i made it look at professional as possible. Because my magazine is based on an indie/rock genre i thought that it would be best to use a colour which is represented with this genre. In this case i used grey.
CONTENTS PAGE
For my contents page i also used the research i has previously made into Q magazine to influence my choices. I thought that it was important that i included the masthead of the magazine within my contents page to promote the magazine name to the audience, however i made sure that this wasn't too big so it didn't take the focus off the other aspects of the contents page.
I advertised the fact that it was a contents page in big writing at the top of the page so that it is clear to the reader what part of the magazine they are looking at, it also makes my magazine look professional.
As in Q magazine, i realised that within their contents pages they use images around the page to promote what is inside. I also did this and use pictures of artists which again suited the genre of my music.
I also used the idea of creating two separate sub headings; featured and regulars. Featured being artists within the magazine which were promoted through this page and Regulars being normal articles which were also inside the magazine.
Next to each article name i made sure that i included the page number for the reader so that it would be easy for them to navigate around the magazine.
I kept the background a plain white colour so that everything would be clear for my audience to read and so that it also contrasted well with my images.
DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
For my double page spread, i used the same artist as the artist on my front cover. However, i used a slightly different picture of the model. I did this so that it showed consistency throughput the magazine as the article was based on the same person. I made the image big enough so that it fitted over both pages of my double page spread.
I used big fonts for my title of the article so that it again made the reader be drawn in to the page.
I included my article just below the title and next to the picture.
I did this so that the title, main image and article itself all had a link between them and showed to the audience relevance between them.
I also used a grey background for this article so that it again linked back to the magazine cover to show consistency and professionalism.
Throughout the whole of my magazine i made sure that the text colours were all kept to the same scheme of White, Black and Red. I did this to make sure that my magazine looked professional and stayed consistent in all aspects throughout my magazine.
This task has benefited me as i now have a better understanding of how to use PagePlus and i have also been able to analyse a magazine better and know what to do to improve next time i create another front cover, double page spread and contents.
I will use this to refer back to when i come to complete my main task.
Drafting/Planning of my magazine layout, photography and article (Working with PagePlus to design a front cover, contents page and double page spread)
I have done this to practice using the software for when i come to designing my actual magazine cover, contents and double page spread.
Creating this has helped me to get better at using the software and will therefore help me to get a better overall result for my main task.
I will continue to use this software so that i can continue to improve.
Drafting/Planning of my photography and organisation of my actors, locations, costumes and props (Original photography)
Here i have taken more original photography for my magazine. I have taken loads so that i can choose the best photo and then edit them to suit my magazine.

Drafting/Planning of my photography and organisation of my actors, locations, costumes and props (Original photography)
Here i have taken several photos of my model for my main artist in my magazine. I have been taking photos to either be my main image on my front cover, or the image of my solo artist on my double page spread.
When i begin to construct my magazine, i will be able to edit these photos so they look more suitable to my genre of music 'indie/rock'.

Research into my potential target audience (Questionnaire analysis for content of my interview)
Here I have summarized the results the womens results for the content of my solo artists interview. I will use these percentage results to get an idea of what questions i should use.
The results from both the women and men who took part in the questionnaire will give me an idea of how to make my magazine suitable for both genders.
